 Let's run away from home!

The ol train that goes thru our town is sounding like its fall already. You know, it makes a special clear sound in the fall/winter months.

It goes thru every two hours from 10pm until 4am, and it is probably the most lonesome sound I've ever heard. I've always loved the sound of trains, and as a kid I'd wonder where they were going, and wish I was aboard.

My husbands sister, Peggy got on a train. She was 14 and their Dad caught up with her in Little Rock. Peggy was a mess, and was born way before her time. She never tried to run away from home again tho.

I crawled out the window once, and went across the road and sat in a corn field until I had cooled off. Knew I would'nt get far, and sneaked back in without anyone knowing. The next time I was cleaning windows, my Dad had left me a note in my crawling out window, saying "if you want to leave home, use the front door". Daddy

Wish I had kept that note............

Have any of you Streamers ever run away from home? Know you all did some sneaking out for sure... Would love to hear any adventures!

 A Hill Country Sunset!

I was raised in the Hill Country of Texas, and most of us learned to dance before we learned to walk......

Every little community had a SPJST Hall, and there was a fine band every weekend....I learned to dance standing on my Granddads shoes.

A HILL COUNTRY SUNSET!

 It's hard being a Mom!

This woman is funny, and very good....I think I've used about all of her little remarks many times when I was raising my kids, except for the text messaging...Thank Goodness, I did'nt have that to contend with, nor cell phones.....Whew!

Many of you younger Moms can probably relate to all of her comments, and you guys have a much harder job of raising kids than I ever did.
Bless each of you....

There is no doubt.... that being a Mom is the hardest job I ever had, and it is not over by far!!!

Being a Single Mom is so difficult that I sometimes wonder how I did it.

My kids made it in spite of me, and are fairly well adjusted. My daughter, however is the Mother of that beautiful baby boy that I have pictured at the top of my blog.

She is an excellant Mom, but has explained in no uncertain words, "there will be NO more children" for her and her sweet hubby.

If she only knew...I tried to warn her, but NO, she would'nt listen to me......She would'nt trade the beauty-boy for anything in the world, but one child is all she and hubby can handle....

Me......... I'm just proud I got this one grandchild. Cannot imagine our lives without him. Just when I thought I'd never have one, he came along, and we are soooo blessed....

 Autumn Leaves!

I'm in the Fall of my life.....My sweet husband is in the Winter of his......Each season is wonderful, and each season reveals the truth about living....

Those of you in the Spring and Summer of your life, let me tell you...Live it to the fullest....You only have to answer to God....
The seasons come and go, but God remains the same.....

OBSERVATIONS AND THOUGHTS

1. The nicest thing about the future is that it always starts tomorrow.

2. Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.

3. If you don't have a sense of humor, you probably don't have any sense at all..

4. Seat belts are not as confining as wheelchairs.

5. A good time to keep your mouth shut is when you're in deep water.

6. How come it takes so little time for a child who is afraid of the dark to become a teenager who wants to stay out all night?

7. Business conventions are important because they demonstrate how many people a company can operate without.

8. Why is it that at class reunions you feel younger than everyone else looks?

9. Scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job.

10. No one has more driving ambition than the boy who wants to buy a car.

11. There are no new sins; the old ones just get more publicity.

12. There are worse things than getting a call for a wrong number at 4 AM. It could be a right number.

13. Think about this ... No one ever says "It's only a game" when his team is winning.

14. I've reached the age where the happy hour is a nap.

15. Be careful reading the fine print. There's no way you're going to like it.

16. The trouble with bucket seats is that not everybody has the same size bucket..

17. Do you realize that in about 40 years, we'll have thousands of OLD LADIES running around with tattoos?
(And RAP music will be the Golden Oldies!)

18. Money can't buy happiness -- but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Corvette than in a Yugo.

19. After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

I don't know when or where my path will end, but I do know God is in charge.....

To Smell or Not To Smell

I'm in an Annie Lennox mood!!!

Poor Hubby got sprayed by a skunk this afternoon, and the darn thing was in his golf cart shed....Ugh! It made him so mad, he killed the skunk with an old putter......Deader than a doornail I'm telling ya.

He came in the back door smelling to high heaven....I've fixed him up a mixture of stuff I found on the internet, plus the tomato juice thingy.

By the way.....My husband cannot smell worth a hoot....Lucky Man!!!!!

Go Annie Go!!!
