 Theres a Change a Comin'

For those of you who live in the City Limits do not know what it is to have grease traps and ceptic tanks. Twenty years ago we were on well water, and that can be even more fun when the well pump goes out. Always in the winter, and usually when it was sleeting.

We got our grease trap fixed, and have bought Lime to spread over the raw dirt, so the smell will be nice. We love living out of town and enjoy the lower taxes, and the open fields and no close neighbors breathing down our necks.

There is always a down side to most everything, and repairing grease and septic tanks every fifteen years or so is just one of them.

When we got on bi county water, we begin using our well for watering the yard and garden. That is very nice...

The weather is feeling different, even tho it is still hot. The winds are dryer and the air feels nicer. Fall is on its way. You can just smell it in the air and the trees are looking different. They are tired and ready for their leaves to turn and fall...

I'm ready for a change. August is over, and the past few months have been difficult. We have friends and family who are suffering, and a school bond that is causing a division in our community.

We have weathered remodeling our bathrooms and fixing our foundation and the grease trap this summer.

We are well, and so are our kids, and I woke up this morning, and my husband was holding my hand while he slept. We both know what is important, and how precious each day is.

There is a change coming. I'm looking forward seeing the leaves turn, and the air become brisk. I'm looking forward to each day and another season. I hope you are too!

Summer is almost gone! It was an unusual cool, rainy, nice season, but football is here!!!! Oh Boy! I love college football, and our little hometown usually gives us a thrill.... What more could a girl want?

Stress, and How to Deal with it!

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
And some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.

* Always read stuff that will make you look good
If you die in the middle of it.

* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be
Recalled by their maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
It was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply be kind to others.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

* The second mouse gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way,
You're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you.
The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world,
But you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

*Have a wonderful week Streamers!

 No Problem!

What can I say? This week!

1. Two funerals ( 26 and 46 year old men)

2. A colonoscopy (OK!!!!)

3. A huge sink hole by our grease trap; Tearing up my back
yard to repair the problem. Worked all summer to make it
pretty.

4. Our foundation decided to shift. Mucho money to level it! Got
five estimates. There goes my new carpet...

5. Because of #1 all these other problems seem so silly and not
important at all.

 He Had Everything!

Today my husband and I attended the funeral of a young man who would have been 27 tomorrow.

He died of an overdose of who knows what. He had a drug problem since high school. Was an abusive boyfriend and son. Had a son by a girl who over dosed five years ago and died. His girlfriend now is expecting a daughter in a few months.

His Mom and Dad are wonderful people. Tried so hard to help him, as did his aunts and uncles and grandparents and friends and teachers, and preachers. No one could reach him. Everyone tried. Everyone is so full of guilt. Everyone is so sad and feeling so helpless.

He enlisted in the service, and was a veteran of Operation Iraq Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and was in South Korea one year.

Many thought the service would help him. Hello? Teaching druggies to kill does not make you better. Remember Viet Nam?

He came back to us worse than when he left.

He was a beautiful blue eyed blond headed boy full of laughter and little boy ways. The most beautiful smile you've ever seen. Wonderful manners!

What happened, and why, and what could we have done differently? When did he go crazy? Was it the first time he did drugs? Was he just one that could'nt go back?

Two months ago he almost overdosed, and was hospitalized for several weeks.

He was an Eagle Scout.

I'm so mad and hurt for these people, and for him. What a waste!

Who gave him permission to hurt so many people? Why was his life so bad he had to use drugs to feel better. Everyone loved him.

...and now he is free...........The monkey on is back is gone...... ........And his dealer will have to find another sucker....

Tonight his parents will not have to worry about him for the first time in ten years.

He had everything.
